Discover Music Instantly: YouTube Music’s New Song Recognition Tool Simplifies Song Search

YouTube Music, a popular streaming service, has been making waves in the industry recently. With over 100 million subscribers worldwide, YouTube Music and YouTube Premium are quickly gaining momentum. Despite facing competition from giants like Apple Music and Spotify, YouTube Music continues to innovate with new features to attract more users.

One exciting feature that is currently being rolled out on YouTube Music is song recognition. This new feature allows users to easily find songs by simply tapping the search icon in the top-right corner of the app. A dedicated button with the same icon design as the song search feature on YouTube is also available for quick access next to the voice search option.

For Android users, the song search feature has been available on YouTube’s main app for some time now. By tapping the “Song” tab instead of “Voice” during a search, users can play, sing, or hum a song they are looking for. YouTube uses AI technology to match the sound to the original recording, making it easier for users to discover new music.

The good news is that this feature is not exclusive to Android users – some iOS users of YouTube Music already have access to this capability as well. While both YouTube and YouTube Music are part of Google’s ecosystem, they serve different purposes. While YouTube offers a wide range of videos including music videos, movies, tutorials, and vlogs, YouTube Music focuses solely on streaming music and podcasts.

Integrating features like song recognition into the YouTube Music app makes sense as it helps the platform compete with other streaming services in the market. While competitors like Apple Music and Spotify do not offer built-in song recognition features, they do integrate with popular apps like Shazam for identifying songs.

Apple’s ownership of Shazam allows seamless integration with Apple Music where users can easily listen to identified songs. Similarly, Spotify also integrates with Shazam to provide a similar experience for its users. As YouTube Music continues to evolve and add new features like song recognition, it aims to enhance user experience and stay competitive in the ever-growing streaming service market.
