Discover the Impressive Features of Pixel 9’s Tensor G4: A Game-Changer in Telecommunications

A recent report has suggested that Google’s upcoming chip, the Tensor G4, may not live up to expectations. However, it’s important to note that the Pixel 9, expected to be the first phone featuring this chip, is still months away from release. With the chipset still being developed, it’s premature to make any definitive judgments.

According to a trusted leaker, the Tensor G4 will be based on the Exynos 2400. This is consistent with previous iterations of Tensor chips, which have also been built on Samsung’s Exynos chipsets. It seems that Google needs more time to develop a fully customized chip and refine its performance.

The Tensor G4 is anticipated to be an eight-core chip with a configuration that includes one Cortex X4 core clocked at 3.1GHz, three Cortex A720 cores running at 2.6GHz, and four Cortex A520 cores operating at frequencies of 1.95GHz. Additionally, rumors suggest that the chip will feature the Mali G715 GPU instead of the Xclipse 940 based on AMD RDNA3.

Despite having one fewer core than its predecessor (the Tensor G3), the G4 is not expected to be a downgrade. In fact, it could deliver improved performance due to ARM’s latest cores running at higher clock speeds.

If inspired by Samsung’s Exynos 2400, the Tensor G4 will likely be based on Samsung’s third-gen 4nm process and utilize fan-out wafer-level packaging technology. These advancements should contribute to better thermal management and overall efficiency for devices powered by this chip.

While it may not match up with top-tier processors like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or even the Exynos 2400 in terms of speed and performance, the Tensor G4 is still poised to offer a significant upgrade over its predecessor – and that’s what truly matters for users anticipating Google’s next-generation devices.
