Certification 2a Shows Fast Charging Speed for Nothing Phone

Nothing, the British smartphone manufacturer founded by Carl Pei, is known for its minimalist aesthetics and design focus. With the release of the Nothing Phone (2), the company is now gearing up for the launch of the Nothing Phone (2a) – a mid-range version of its flagship phone.

Recently, the upcoming Nothing Phone (2a) was spotted on the TUV certification website with the model number A142, confirming its support for 45W fast charging. While this may not be as high as the 120W fast charging supported by other smartphones, it is still considered pretty fast compared to competitors like the Pixel 7a and the rumored next-generation iPhone SE 4.

Leaks suggest that the Nothing Phone (2a) will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC, potentially slower than other chips on the market. It is expected to come in two memory variants: 8/128GB and 12/256GB, running on Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14 with a promise of 3 years of OS upgrades.

The smartphone will feature a 120Hz OLED display and come in black and white colors, with an anticipated base price of around $400. It is expected to debut at the company’s upcoming event on February 27, which will also see the launch of new neckband headphones and a power bank. Stay tuned for updates as the event approaches.
