Troubleshooting Connection Issues: How Pixel Users Can Improve Wireless Connectivity and Enhance Call/Text Reliability in Canada

Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 series owners have been experiencing network issues since the March 2024 monthly update was installed. The update, intended to fix bugs and improve stability, seems to have caused more problems for users. Complaints include missed messages, dropped calls, and other familiar issues faced by Pixel users.

One affected Pixel user on Reddit shared that they have been toggling Airplane mode on and off every two hours to maintain a connection with their wireless provider. This workaround was necessary for many Pixel 6 series users due to Google’s decision to equip Pixels with Samsung’s Exynos modem chips instead of Qualcomm Snapdragon chips found in other flagship phones. Both the Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 models use the Exynos 5300 5G modem chip.

Reports on Reddit also mention users experiencing calls going straight to voicemail and delayed message notifications. Interestingly, some Verizon customers using iPhones or Galaxy models do not seem to be encountering these network issues.

Despite the release of the April 2024 update, these connectivity problems persist for Pixel users. It remains to be seen if the upcoming May update will address these issues or if Google will release a mid-cycle update to provide relief from these significant network disruptions.
